Originally recorded for dal segno's first album which took Cormac McCarthy's novel 'The Road' as a thematic jumping off point. The title of this song is from Chief See-ahth's (historically rewritten www.synaptic.bc.ca/ejournal/wslibrry.htm#.VBMHD_ldWSo) speech in which he foresees the future of life on the American continent "...the end of living and the beginning of survival".
lyrics
If you remember the sun and the thought of daily bread,
If you remember history, remember, it's still in your head.
Life - re-adapting,
Cleansing and decomposing.
Memories retained:
We're all that remains.
