The Wurm, or Dragon, in Celtic and Germanic myths is a hoarder of gold and valuables. A symbol of the human ego and an enemy of enlightenment and peace with the natural world. The instrumental music used here, from Wagner's opera 'Siegried', is the composer's motif for the dragon, Fafner.
lyrics
Technology will rust, cultural achievements burn;
Buildings crumble to dust, history eaten by the Worm.
All in all - the wind and rain,
All in all - will grow again,
All in all - wind on the grass,
All in all - all things pass,
The earth, only, endures.
